SecurLAN - Local Area Network Security Protection 

SecurLAN, SYSCO's local area network physical security management system provides identification and alarm annunciation of intrusion attempts to classified communications systems.

When SecurLAN detects an intrusion attempt on the protected distribution system, a signal is sent to the data collection panel where it is processed as an alarm, time date stamped, and transmitted to the security management workstation.

The security management workstation immediately presents an audible tone or voice message alerting the operator of the alarm condition.  A detailed text message displays all relevant information and a map of the facility indicates the zone of the LAN in alarm.  Simultaneously, a signal is sent from the data gathering panel to the optical interface switch to shut down the affected zone of LAN and deny the intruder access.

After assessing the alarm and removing the cause, the operator simply enters the reason into the database and clicks the mouse. The system records the alarm and returns the LAN to normal operation.
